The last 4 days between 12th and 15th of May were filled with smiles, cheer and active learning for about 190 children between 6th and 12th classes. The Divine Summer Camp organized by Sri Sathya Sai Trust For Universal Welfare had a long list of activities that sets a foundation for children's all round development.
The children started the early morning sessions at 5:00 AM with Aumkaram and Suprabhatham followed by Nagarasankeertan. Further they underwent yoga sessions and inspiring sessions by various Gurus that had experts from Yoga Consciousness Trust, Om Santhi Organization and Art of Living. The early morning sessions concluded with breakfast for all.
The morning sessions started at 10:00 AM and had experts from the fields of health and Vedas inspire the children in the respective fields. The sessions followed with snacks and Mangala Arathi.
The evening sessions were elaborate and filled with group activities and group discussions that followed after Aumkaran and Bhajans. The evenings saw Gurus from the Chinmaya Mission and the Chinna Jeeyar Organization spread their knowledge to the young ones. Divya Prasadam (dinner) was provided to one and all.
Day 4, 15th May, was extra special for the children as it was filled with games and sports all morning. While Boys enjoyed playing cricket and tug of war, girls played Khokho, Tug of War, Lemon & spoon and quick reaction games. The evening was sparkling with activities like Pada pooja to parents, science expo, cooking competition and finally the convocation cermony for the summer camp.
Overall, there were 11 sessions involving 10 Gurus. 190 children benefitted and about 100 parents were present. Bags and gifts were distributed the children at the end. Thus, the summer camp successfully laid the seeds of knowledge, unity and love in the hearts of small children that will go on to bloom into great citizens of the Nation!
