On March 20th, Sri Sathya Sai Trust For Universal Welfare under the umbrella of Sai Aarogya (Free Rural Medical Services) conducted its 15th medical camp of the series of 100 medical camps in 100 weeks. The medical camp was held in Mettapalem and 4 surrounding tribal villages in S.Kota mandal. In this camp, 315 people benefited with medical screenings and other procedures, of whom, 104 consulted the general physician. While 24 women used the services of the gynecologist, 27 patients consulted the dentist. 28 used Advanced consultations like oncology. 56 were screened for ophthalmology, where 5 were referred for cataract surgery and 11 were prescribed spectacles. This apart, there were 1 dental extraction, 13 dental filings and 10 dental scalings conducted. About 46 used the services of the orthopaedic. There were 25 consultations attended to by the paediatrician and 5 by the ENT specialist.
Medicines prescribed were provided free of cost to the beneficiaries.
