Happy Onam

September 8, 2022

Onam has a great significance for mankind to follow. Lord Narayana incarnated as Vamana, not to destroy Maharaja Bali, but to bless him with the highest. When Vamana assumed the Trivikrama Form and measured the earth and the sky in 2 steps, Maharaja Bali offered his head for the third step that he had promised the young Vamana. This relieved Maharaja Bali from the cycle of birth and death - the highest blessing that any Jeevatma can aspire for. Bali prayed to the Lord to allow him to come to his land one day every year, which today, translates to Onam Celebrations. Thus, Onam reminds us to surrender ourselves to the Lord, which alone can grant us the highest purpose of our lives.
